Phuket's on-demand transport is split between the Grab app and the island's ubiquitous local taxis. Grab operates island-wide from the airport to Rawai and Laem Singh, and you simply open the app, drop the pin at your exact location (villas, beaches, or roadside), and wait for the assigned car or bike to arrive. Payment is handled in-app with card or cash, and you can track the driver in real time. Local taxis, painted bright yellow-red or unmarked saloon cars, are found outside every hotel, shopping mall, and beach entrance. You hail them curbside or ask your accommodation to call one, negotiate the fare before getting in, and pay the driver directly in cash when you reach your destination.
